The next mediafonds@sandberg conference handles the economical crisis trough the presence of complex datavisualisation, better named data-deco. We played on the conference’s title ‘Follow The Money’; each invitation comes with a set of stickers that you can glue on your money. On followthemoney.nu you can enter your location and trace it! We expect a daunting datavisualisation!

Curious about where money goes, we wrote messages on a few banknotes which we spread in Frankfurt. Hopefully the future owners are going to help us track the money.

During our stay in Frankfurt (also known as ‘Mainhatten’) we saw clearly why this place is called the financial capital of Europe. In the cold streets, posters for events were almost the only traces of human life. We explored the city at night and painted the prices of the events over the posters. In that way we highlighted the money behind the entertainment industry. Fun costs money too and it is usually found in the small letters. Also commercial billboards got our attention. (Unfortunately Cox & Grusenmeyer got the attention of the police…)
